Rookie Eric “Chummy” Arneson Leads Wire-to-Wire in 141 Mod Go!

May 12, 2012; Francis Creek, WI– Oconto Falls rookie Eric “Chummy” Arneson led every lap and fought off a hard charging Kyle Frederick of Gillett to capture his first career modified feature at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek.

A total of 144 cars checked in to compete.  The field included 30 modifieds, 13 Brian Peterson Grand Nationals, 25 stock cars, 32 Tisler Salvage street stocks, 28 IMCA northern sportmods and 16 sport fours.

First 141 Speedway Open Wheel Driving School Monday, May 21st

May 8, 2012; Francis Creek, WI – The first of five open wheel driving schools will be held Monday, May 21 at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek.   Other dates for the school at 141 Speedway will be Monday, June 18, Monday July 9 with World of Outlaws champion Sammy Swindell as a special guest, and Monday nights August 13, September 17 and October 15.   For $400 you get one to one and a half hours of a classroom session, and three, seven lap sessions on the high-banked, third mile clay oval in either a winged sprint car or mini sprint. “We provide the helmets, the drivers suits and everything else,” said Open Wheel school owner Randy Sippel.

McGrath Mops Up On 141 Mod Foes – Record 168 Cars Show Up In Six Class Show

May 5, 2012; Francis Creek, WI– Neosho’s Mitch McGrath passed Fremont’s Mike Wedelstadt for the lead on lap seven and battled defending track champ Shawn Jerovetz in the final laps to capture the modified feature at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek on Stock’s Harley Davidson/21 Guns Saloon night.

A weekly record of 168 cars checked in to do battle.  The field included 24 modifieds, 19 Brian Peterson Grand Nationals, 31 stock cars, 31 street stocks, 42 IMCA northern sportmods and 22 sport fours.

Yes, We’re Racing In Rockford Tonight With Warm Hands!

April 28, 2012; Rockford, IL. -    When the green flag waves at 7:07pm tonight April 28, Rockford Speedway may very well be the only short track racing in the region. Cold, Damp Weather Forces 141 Speedway Races to Be Cancelled April 28th!

April 28, 2012, Francis Creek, WI – With bitterly cold temperatures and rain forecast for the evening, 141 Speedway has decided to cancel the planned races for Saturday, April 28.
 
Weekly racing will resume next Saturday night, May 5th.

Mods, Grand Nationals & Stocks Return to 141 Speedway Saturday

April 25, 2012; Francis Creek, WI – After a week off due to the IRA sprint car special, modifieds, stock cars and Brian Peterson Builders Grand Nationals will return to action at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek Saturday, April 28 at 6 p.m.
 
Last Saturday three classes saw drivers score clean sweeps, including Valders Chad Vetting (IMCA northern sportmods), Francis Creek’s Kraig Koehler (Tisler Salvage street stocks) and defending track champion Ralph Liegois Jr. (sport fours).

Free Hand Warmers Heat Up Rockford Speedway Saturday

April 25, 2012; Loves Park, IL- Summer may have arrived early in the Midwest this year, but forecasters predict the return of cooler temperatures this Saturday when NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing resumes at Rockford Speedway. Speedway officials will combat the chill in the air by giving free hand warmers to the first one thousand spectators through the gates Saturday night.

Francis Creek, WI;  April 21, 2012 – Defending Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw sprint car champion Billy Balog of Eau Claire led all 30 laps and sifted his way through lapped cars en route to the series season opening feature at 141 Speedway Saturday night.
 
A total of 98 cars showed up to do battle in the four class program, including 25 sprints, 32 IMCA northern sportmods, 25 Tisler Salvage street stocks and 17 sport fours.

Farrell Fearlessly, Feverishly Flies to First MASCS Win In Spring Classic at Rockford

Loves Park, Ill. (April 15, 2012) – Mid-American Stock Car Series veterans and past Champions may want to grab a pen and paper and start jotting down some notes. On Sunday afternoon at Rockford Speedway there was a new kid in town teaching them some lessons.

Rookie Ryan Farrell opened the 20th MASCS season in boisterous fashion by out-timing the field for the 35th Annual Spring Classic by nearly two tenths of a second. If that statement wasn’t enough, Farrell cruised through the pack in the 50-lap main event, picking off competitors using the less-than-preferred inside line. He snared the top spot before the halfway point and went unchallenged to the end.

(Francis Creek, WI) April 14, 2012 – New Franken’s Shawn Kilgore sprinted from his pole position and kept Green Bay’s Benji LaCrosse at bay to capture the opening night modified feature at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek.
 
A new weekly record 167 cars checked in to do battle. The field included 33 modifieds, 20 Brian Peterson Grand Nationals, 31 stock cars, 28 Tisler Salvage street stocks, 41 IMCA northern sportmods and 14 sport fours.

Weekly Car Count Record May Fall at 141 Speedway Opener April 14th.

Francis Creek, WI; April 10, 2012 - It might be the IMCA northern sportmod giveaway. Or perhaps the motor giveaways in the modified, street stock and stock car divisions, too. Or, quite simply, Spring fever.
 
At any rate, based upon car counts at three recent practice sessions, it’s safe to say 141 Speedway’s weekly car count record of 143 (set back in June, 2010) could be in serious jeopardy of being smashed when the hammer drops on the 2012 racing season Saturday, April 14 at 6 p.m.

83 Cars Jam 141 Speedway’s Final Practice – Opener April 14th

Francis Creek, WI; April 8, 2012 - 83 cars representing eight different classes filled the pit area at 141 Speedway Saturday, April 7 for the third and final “test and tune” of the 2012 “pre-season.” The shakedown session was the final one with the season opener on tap Saturday, April 14 at 6 p.m.

Some drivers made their 141 practice debut for the year, including modified driver Benji LaCrosse of Green Bay and Suamico’s Andy Kleczka in his IMCA northern sportmods.

That’s why the defending Brian Peterson Builders Grand National Sportsman champion has opted to keep running his 2010 Larry Richards Outlaw chassis again this season. “That car has four championships and two runnerup points finishes on it, so we’ve decided to stick with it this year,” said Smith, from Menasha. “We’ve got it rebuilt and we’re ready to race.”

Tisler Salvage Sponsors 141 Speedway Street Stocks in 2012

(Francis Creek, WI) - March 31, 2012 – Tisler Salvage has agreed to sponsor the street stock division at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek in 2012.

Started in Reedsville back in 1966, Tisler Salvage remains one of the state’s largest auto salvage companies.  Owned by former racer Gary Tisler, Tisler Salvage has all makes and models of used and aftermarket parts.   They also buy scrap iron.   Tisler Salvage will contribute $1,500 towards the street stock point fund at 141 Speedway.  Drivers must run 75 percent of all weekly shows to be eligible for the point fund money.

141 Speedway Practice Postponed Until Sunday, March 25

Green Bay, WI; March 24, 2012 - Due to excessive wet weather, the practice Scheduled for today at 141 Speedway has been postponed.

The track will be running the practice Sunday, March 25 from 1 to 5 p.m.
“Merle (Lisowe) figures it’s a little soft and with no sun we don’t want to risk rutting up the track,” said track promoter Bruce Conard. “We’ll practice Under the lights if we have to on Sunday. But our plan is still the same,  just everything else moved to Sunday.”
