Final Month of Racing Starts Saturday at ABC

August 5, 2011; Ashland, WI — Four regular-season race nights remain for the drivers that compete at the ABC Raceway for the 2011 campaign. The first of those nights is Saturday night, when Rivord Trucking of Superior and Birch Grove Campground of Iron River will present a complete five-division race program on the three-eighths-mile red-clay oval just south of Ashland.

Balog Makes ABC Raceway History with First-Ever IRA Sprint Win! Mikkonen holds on for Super Stock Challenge win; Coddington captures Sixes

Ashland, WI, July 30, 2011 — With lightning flashing in the southern skies, Billy Balog of Brookfield scooted through and around traffic and then outran the field to win the first-ever A-feature at the ABC Raceway for the touring Interstate Racing Association Outlaw Sprint Series on Saturday night.
The northern Illinois-based winged 410 sprint-car group brought 22 long-distance travelers to the northern Wisconsin speedplant for an historic program presented by Wagner’s Ashland Shell and Arby’s Restaurant, and a packed house witnessed a new track record set during qualifying and a 30-lap feature that thrilled the fans on a muggy night during which threatening storms passed close by.

ABC Raceway Canceled – July 23

Due to heavy rains, wet grounds and a forecast promising more precipitation, ABC Raceway officials regretfully have cancelled their race program scheduled for Saturday, July 23. Don’t forget – the first ever visit by the IRA 410 sprint car series is scheduled for next Saturday, July 30, with hot laps and time trials set for 6:15 pm and green-flag racing to start at 7! This is one of the most anticipated events of the summer in the Northland! Don’t miss it!

First-Time Winners, Bike Races Highlight ABC Raceway’s Show

 Tyler Luger ran away with his first-ever six-cylinder feature win, while Paul Knauf, Nick Oreskovich and Ryan Adamczak each claimed their first win of the season as 82 cars and a lot of kids with bikes came to race at the ABC Raceway on Saturday night.

Second Half of ABC Season Will Be Action-Packed

Ashland, WI — Just like that, the schedule for the 2011 ABC Raceway regular season is half over. But don’t worry, race fans – the second part of the show promises to be even more exciting than the first.

Part Two gets started on Saturday night with the Six-Cylinder Summer Sizzler presented the Bad River Lodge, Casino & Convention Center. An enhanced purse for this unique division will make for a great headline event to the five-division race program.

Jensen Conquers Modifieds; Casari Collects First Super Win at ABC Raceway

Joey Jensen of Forest Lake, MN, got in a good shake-down session for Tuesday night’s Como Mod Series special here by taking home wins in both his heat and the WISSOTA modified feature during “Jam the Stands” Night action Saturday at the ABC Raceway.

The Amsoil Dirt Track Series program, presented by Heartland Communications, drew a season-high 84 cars, as sunshine and 80-degree temperatures replaced the dreary cold, wet weather of recent weeks in the Chequamegon Bay area.
