WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (May 17, 2012) - With new ownership Dells Raceway Park is steamrolling toward its 50th season opener this Saturday, May 19. The 2011 season closed with a huge bang and the largest crowd in the past five years at DRP.  The 2012 season promises to pack plenty of punch, as well.

Last season introduced a new concept of doing business with the Super Late Model division. The concept erupted into the Alive For Five Super Late Model Series which saw unexpected driver support and a huge swing of momentum toward the end of the season.

Bernhagen’s Formula: Stay Out of Trouble, Stay Up Front at Dells

May 11, 2012; Wisconsin Dells, WI – Incidents of mayhem were far too frequent for most drivers in the Late Model features of the 2011 season at Dells Raceway Park. Don’t add Jesse Bernhagen to that list of drivers who had trouble keeping clean.

Bernhagen calmly and consistently placed in the top five through the 2011 season en route to a fourth place finish in season standings. He hopes sticking to the same game plan this season will boost him to a title.

May 7, 2012, Wisconsin Dells, WI – There are many clichés tossed around about being the runner up, being the bridesmaid, being second best. Although most of those have negative overtone, Mike Winters was content with his season highlighted by more than a handful of second place finishes.

As he sees it, it was a great place to start his Dells Raceway Park career.       The 25 year old from Sun Prairie began his racing career more than five years ago, but first ventured to Wisconsin’s Showcase Short Track this season. Once he began testing the third-mile on a weekly basis, he was hooked.

WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (April 9, 2012) – Saturday was a day of briefly looking back, then staring into the future of Dells Raceway Park as DRP racers and officials met at the Wintergreen Resort and Conference Center to honor top drivers from 2011 and prepare for 2012.

WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (April 3, 2012) – With just over six weeks left until the start of the 2012 Dells Raceway Park season, officials and drivers are ready to sort out some of the final details of the offseason before kicking off DRP’s 50th season on Saturday, May 19. 
 
This Saturday at the Wintergreen Resort and Conference Center in Wisconsin Dells, DRP officials will host an informational meeting for all teams that plan to race at the venue in 2012. The informational meeting will take place from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and will cover rules and policies for teams that race in the four weekly divisions.

Lensing Completes Purchase of Dells Raceway Park

WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (March 15, 2012) - Ownership of Dells Raceway Park officially changed hands Thursday morning when Wayne Lensing closed the deal to become the sixth owner in the facility’s 50-year history.
 
Lensing, of Roscoe, Ill., has been a key member of the Midwestern short track racing scene for almost four decades.  While working at a Chrysler factory and racing in the 1970s and 80s, an idea came to Lensing.  He said one day he decided to be brave, quit Chrysler and form what is now one of the most well-known companies in auto racing – Lefthander Chassis.

Trute, Burrows Team For Title

WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (January 4, 2012) – Defending Schultz Small Engine Pure Stock Champion Dave Trute didn’t plan to chase another title in 2011. He also didn’t plan on watching a fill-in driver snag the crown on the final night of the season at Dells Raceway Park. 
 
Teaming up with Jeff Burrows, a driver he had known since his childhood, Dave Trute etched his name into the history books for the second year in a row as a Pure Stock Champion.

After Claiming First DRP Championship Kreyer Will Return With Reinforcements in 2012 at Dells Raceway Park

WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (December 17, 2011) – To say Frank Kreyer was busy when the Alive For Five Super Late Model Series presented by Advanced Engine Concepts was on the tablet at Dells Raceway Park would be a grave injustice to how many angles he had to play. 
 
Kreyer acted as a driver, car owner, crew member, and crew chief for himself and several other teams competing in the five-race series at DRP. Through it all Kreyer was able to take a win and four fourth-places finishes en route to his first championship at his home track. In 2012 he plans to return with a few more additions to the team. 

Lefthander, Holmes Team Up For Chassis Giveaways at DRP

WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (December 1, 2011) – Lefthander Chassis and Holmes Motorsports are teaming up to give two chassis to Dells Raceway Park racers at the end of the 2012 season. The giveaway will reward drivers who race at DRP on a regular basis.
 
Lefthander will donate two bare chassis for the giveaways. The winners will be asked to supply the remaining components to complete the chassis, which Holmes Motorsports will assemble into a roller free of charge.

Bauer Makes Her Mark Besting DRP Late Model Rookies

 WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (November 13, 2011) – When she started the 2011 season at Dells Raceway Park, it wasn’t as though Kelsey Bauer was unfamiliar with Late Model racing. What she hadn’t experienced, however, was the challenge a full season had in store. 
 
Persevering through the challenges with the help of two veteran racers, Bauer topped the rookie class of Budweiser Late Models.
