Two Sweeps and Sauter Finally Wins One at Plover

May 4, 2012, Plover, WI. -  Tim Sauter’s Season Championship at Golden Sands Speedway last year came with no wins. He changed that immediately this season with an opening charge that put him in victory lane Friday night at Plover’s premier track. Sauter started fifth and arced through traffic until his only seeming competition was Mark Eswein.

August 26, 2011; Plover, WI- 5 new champions were crowned tonight at Golden Sands Speedway in Plover WI. Tim Sauter proved consistency will win titles as the 3 time 2nd place finisher proudly put the #99 team in a well-deserved spot on the year-end podium. Sauter’s 2nd place finish tonight makes Tim only the second driver to win the Golden Sands championship without a feature win. Jeremy Lepak again sliced through a tough field, making the win on this tight track look easy.

Jeremy Lepak (#40) captured the Element Mobile Super Late Model feature at Golden Sands Speedway on Friday Night. Tim Sauter (#99) would take home the season championship.

Burris Sweeps, Jake Capek Gets 4th win, and Lepak and Raykowski Repeat at Golden Sands

August 19, 2011 – Plover, WI - Kevin Burris again swept the 4 Cylinder Stock class of racers at Golden Sands Speedway Friday night by posting a much faster lap than anyone else, winning the heat with a last lap pass, and out-racing Davey Pennel. Lucas Betro, Frank Calabrese and Mariah Gajewski who rounded out the top 5. Burris simply has the car to beat, as does Pure Stocker Cale Marzofka.

July 29, 2011; Plover, WI. - Like the name says, Motorcycle Mania began Friday night at Golden Sands Speedway in Plover. The bikers raced thrillingly as Craig Lewis executed a last lap pass in the heat and a wire to wire win in the feature to protect Wisconsin honor versus a North Dakota ace named Dan Jacobsen, who posted the fasted time in qualifying. Local favorite Steve Kasten stopped us all in our tracks when he plunged into the barrels on the front straight, but pulled himself upright, checked out the bike and finished 2nd in the main in a comeback worthy of the night’s name.

July 23, 2011 – Plover, WI . – Kenny Richards pulled into Golden Sands Speedway with 2 dozen other Late Models Friday night and showed that absence slowed him down not one bit. Tim Sauter lined up for the start next to Dave Neitzke and led quickly, leading the field around for the first 38 laps.

Plover, WI; Friday, July 15, 2011- Matt Raykowski took his outside front row start at Golden Sands Speedway and made it pay off with a Super Stock win Friday night. Mitch Lyden tried to keep pace, but his car slipped in a couple of turns and Matt took the early lead and looked like a runaway winner.

Plover, WI; July 8, 2011 –  Erin Schlough took a front row start in the Element Mobile Late Model Feature at Golden Sands Friday Night and turned it into a memorable win. Erin hung on the outside of Darren Jackson the first few laps, both drivers knowing it is so hard to pass in the close competition that whoever got out front would have a great chance at their first Late Model Feature win.

July 1, 2011; Plover, WI. – Brian Weinfurter became the first repeat winner in the Super Stock class tonight, bolting past Dwayne Davis to speed away in the feature event. An earlier heat race incident damaged Weinfurter’s car, but both he and Matt Raykowski brought their machines back and raced in the main event.

Plover, WI;  June 24, 2011 -  Brian Weinfurter did what he does best Friday night at Golden Sands Speedway. He drove out front quickly and picked up the Cranberry Cup Feature in the Super Stock class to start the A Mains. A field of 11 cars were slated to start, but Kyle Davis was a no-show and an even 10 cars took the green with fast-timer Matt Raykowski 8th.

Corey Jankowski topped the Element Mobile Late Model main event at Golden Sands Speedway

Golden Sands Speedway enjoyed perfect summer evening weather to open the 4th Element Mobile Late Model race Friday June 17th. Corey Jankowski enjoyed the luck of the invert and raced off to a decisive win to post his first Late Model victory at any race track.

After a dodgy start in the heat when Tim Sauter beat him to the first turn and went on to win, Jankowski’s Kreyer-prepared Toyota took some adjustments and took off from the 21 car field, ending the race on only seven cylinders.
