What’s Happening at Madison International Speedway – February 2012

February 26, 2012; Oregon, WI -  It’s now less than three months away from the first green flag of the 2012 racing season at Madison International Speedway. Track officials are working diligently to assure race teams and fans that this will be the greatest season ever at the historic speedway located two miles east of Oregon, Wisconsin.

Of course fans can expect a great weekly racing program along with exciting special events such as the Joe Shear Classic featuring the ASA Midwest Tour on May 6th, the Fireworks Extravaganza on June 29th featuring ThunderCat, the ARCA Series in August, and the Fall Classic in September but a variety of new looks as well.

Riddle Solves Fall Classic at MIS, Captures First Big 8 Win!

Oregon, WI; September 24, 2011 - Over the last two plus seasons, Zach Riddle has always been amongst the contenders in every Big 8 Series race he has run. Riddle is usually a threat for fast time, and most times can be found near the top half of the running order. But several times in the past, Lady Luck has not always smiled on the Madison area driver.

Oregon, WI; September 24, 2011 – The fans truly got their money’s worth tonight at MIS as seven racing divisions were in action bringing to a close the 2011 racing season. Andy Jones, Dan Lensing, Sean Murphy, Mark DePorter, Alan Bekielewski, and Tony Velez went home with the trophies in their respective divisions.
 
Zack Riddle was victorious in the Big 8 Late Models while Jeremy Spoonmore captured the flag in the Mid American Stock Car Series. Separate race reports will be filed by each respective sanctioning body.

Fall Classic Features Fireworks on the Track and in the Sky -Wilberg, Stephenson, Jones, McBride, and Take Checkered Flags

Oregon, WI; September 24, 2011 – The first night of the fifth annual MIS Fall Classic brought a great turnout of cars to Madison International Speedway along with the return of Thunder Cat Fireworks. Feature winners included Bobby Wilberg (Late Models), Rodger Stephenson (Area Sportsman), Andy Jones (Legends), Steve McBride (Bandits), and Kyle Stark (International Four Cylinders). Lee Haag won the One on One Spectator Races.

Wilberg, Scheel, Moyer and Ace Take Checkered Flags at Madison International Speedway; Championships Decided

Oregon, WI – August 20, 2011 -  Bobby Wilberg (Rockweiler Insulation Late Models), Stephen Scheel (Ho Chunk Gaming Area Sportsman), Aaron Moyer (Pelliterri Waste Systems Legends), and Chester Ace (Roto Rooter Bandits) won feature races tonight as part of Mountain Dew Season Championship Night at Madison International Speedway. But the big winners tonight were the four season champions that were crowned: Jeremy Miller (Rockweiler Insulation Late Models), Robert Hansberry Jr. (Ho Chunk Gaming Area Sportsman), Andy Jones (Pellitteri Waste Systems Legends), and Kyle Stark / Jim Lorang (Roto Rooter Bandits).

Zack Riddle is Back In Victory Lane at Madison International Speedway

Oregon, WI; August 12, 2011 – Zack Riddle picked up his third straight win in the Rockweiler Insulation Late Models while Todd Ambrose (Ho Chunk Gaming Area Sportsman), Cory Talaska (Pellitteri Waste Systems Legends), and Gary Stark Jr. (Roto Rooter Bandits) all won for the first time in 2011 at MIS.
 
It was also Faster Pastor Night at MIS as Steve Cook and Todd Christopherson each won features. The OTC Scholarship Program at MIS also awarded nearly $100,000 in scholarships to area students who are working on race teams this summer.

Riddle Stages Late Race Dramatics, Rockets to Madison International Speedway Winner’s Circle

August 5, 2011 – Oregon, WI – Zack Riddle saved the best for the end as he led the final two laps on his way to pick up the checkered flag in the 40 lap feature for the Rockweiler Insulation Late Models. Robert Hansberry Jr. maintained his lead in the Ho Chunk Gaming Area Sportsman with his victory while Aaron Moyer and Kyle Stark made trips to the winner’s circle in their respective divisions as well.

Jeremy Miller picked up the checkered flag for the Rockweiler Insulation Late Models, but he had to borrow a car just to be able to race. Unable to get his regular car ready to race, he looked to Dann Barber who chose to lend his car to Miller for the night.

Rubeck Rebounds With a Big 8 Victory at Madison

OREGON, Wis. (Friday, July 1st, 2011) — Steve Rubeck sat just eight points behind Big 8 Series presented by Gandrud Chevrolet top gun Dale Nottestad entering tonight’s ‘Independence 48′ at the Madison International Speedway; however, he wasn’t exactly satisfied after relinquishing the advantage in the standings with a hard luck eighth place result in last month’s event at Jefferson. ‘The Mayor of Monroe Center’ can smile now after registering his second career Big 8 Series win in convincing fashion, leading the final 42 laps on the half-mile oval en route to victory lane.
