Brenner Family Benefit Part of Graphic Point Night at Oshkosh Speedzone

Thursday, August 4, 2011 – Oshkosh, WI. – Sometimes life presents unexpected challenges, and these misfortunes can be overcome with a little help from friends and family.  The racing community recently had one of it’s own suffer some misfortune as M.J. Brenner and her family was displaced by a house fire which had occurred on July 23rd.  Brenner is a competitor in the Lynn’s Service Center Dirt Devil division and she has sponsored several cars through her business Generation Lanes in Eldorado, WI.

The fire destroyed her home, taking with it many of the necessities we come to expect in daily life.

Friday, July 29, 2011 – Oshkosh, WI. – The final racing program of July took place at the Oshkosh Speedzone on Friday Night July 29th, as Knaus Cheese and Weyauwega Star Dairy presented the Leroy Dehn Memorial race.  Over 100 cars turned out to participate in the program.

Tim Reichenberger inherited the lead with two laps left in the Miller Lite Grand National feature at Oshkosh Speedzone and held on to score his second victory of the 2011 season.

 

For the past three race programs Tim Lemirande has made victory lane his home having collected three heat wins and now two straight feature victories in the Automotive Supply Company Modifieds.  In tonight’s contest Lemirande had to deal with a late race restart and a hard charging Travis Spaulding to collect the win.  Spaulding, seeking his first feature win of the 2011 season, applied heavy pressure to Lemirande in the closing laps but Lemirande remained flawless in his drive around the third-mile clay oval to collect the win.

Tuesday, July 26, 2011 – Oshkosh, WI. – Hardcore race fans who prefer one type of racing surface over another have made their opinions known.  Phrases like “dirt’s for racing, asphalt’s for getting to the track” and conversely “asphalt ‘s for racing, dirt is for planting corn” can commonly be heard.

Driver’s likewise often have a preference but what of those who have an opportunity to try both?

That opportunity will occur for long time asphalt Super Late Model standout Jeff Kendall, this Friday evening as Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway when he jumps behind the wheel of a Miller Lite Grand National fielded by Outlaw Chassis and Kenny Richards.

Tuesday, July 19, 2011 – Oshkosh, WI. – It was an evening to honor the past and celebrate the present as three new inductees were added to the tracks Walk of Fame. Leroy Dehn, Jerry Reichenberger and Erv Schmude joined the list of those honored for their racing accomplishments at the former Leo’s Speedway, predecessor  of the current Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway.

Friday, July 15, 2011 – Oshkosh, WI. – After a one week break in the action, the roar of the engines were heard again at Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway.  Fans who attended Budweiser Night at the Races were treated to several dramatic finishes during the course of the evening including some thrilling moments during the feature events.

Jamie Schmidt inhertied the lead with a handful of laps left in the Automotive Supply Company Modified feature and went on to score the victory at Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway.

Wednesday, July 13th, 2011 – Oshkosh, WI. – Drivers in the thick of the point chase will be put to the test this coming week as Oshkosh Speedzone will host two racing events just four days apart. Racing resumes this Friday Night, July 15th after a one week break in racing action as the track facilities were in use by Lifefest. The “Budweiser Night at the Races” kicks off the flurry of racing action this Friday night followed by the special Tuesday Night Walk of Fame program presented by The Galleria of Entertainment on July 19th.

By the time features took to the track and the sun began set, the evening offered more comfortable conditions for driver’s, and fans were presented some thrilling late race drama capped off by several green, white, checkered finishes.

Klenz Captures Second Straight Modified Victory, Time Shortened Grand National Main to Kenny Richards!

Friday, June 24, 2011 – Oshkosh, WI. – Rain had stopped just in time this week as the Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway was able to hold it’s Coors Light / Total Power Sales Driver’s Sponsor Appreciation Night program as planned.   After four straight days of rain track officials managed to whip the racing surface into shape to present the program.

Mike Klenz captured his second straight Automotive Supply Company Modified feature arce at Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway.

Mike Klenz would survive a late race restart fending off Mitch McGrath in the Automotive Supply Company Modifieds in a time shortened 15 lap feature contest.  The victory for Klenz was his second straight as he won the main event when the Modifieds last appeared on June 3rd.

Rain Delayed Driver’s Sponsor Appreciation Night This Friday at Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway!

Wednesday, June 21st, 2011 – Oshkosh, WI. – Five divisions of racing will roar into action this coming Friday Night as the rain delayed Driver’s Sponsor Appreciation Night is held at the Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway.   This event is the tracks way of supporting it’s drivers by giving driver’s complementary tickets to give to their sponsors.  This gives drivers an opportunity to build their relationship with the sponsors of their cars by giving them free passes to the track.  Drivers who file a form are given tickets to distribute.

All five weekly divisions will be in action with nearly 120 cars expected.  Automotive Supply Company Modifieds, Leon’s Frozen Custard Sport Modifieds, Miller Lite Grand Nationals, Total Power Sales Street Stocks and Lynn’s Service Center Dirt Devils will be on hand.

Friday, June 17, 2011 – Oshkosh, WI. – The Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway held its first big special event of 2011 and fans turned out in great numbers at the traveling IRA Outlaw Sprint series made its first of two scheduled appearances this season.   The program, contested on a nearly perfect racing surface allowed drivers  to get the most speed possible out of third machines, with transponder times showing the cars  approaching the 100mph mark on the third-mile clay oval.

Mike Kertscher turned in the fastest time of the 26 cars that were in attendance with a blistering 12.065 second tour around the track.  Track conditions stayed racy throughout the evening and similar times were turned in their feature contest with 20 cars on the track for the main event which was topped by Bill Balog.

Wednesday June 15th, 2011 – Oshkosh, WI. – Mother Nature chalked up her first victory of 2011, forcing postponement of the Driver’s Sponsor Appreciation Night until June 24th, but that blemish aside the 2011 season is shaping up to be a very successful season. A solid showing of fans have witnessed over 100 cars take to the racetrack, and the shows have been highly competitive as no single driver has won more than two features thus far. The events have also been run in a timely fashion with only one race night finishing after the 10:00pm mark making a fast paced program the norm here at Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway.   More

Wednesday, June 15th, 2011 – Oshkosh, WI. – Speed and power is what defines motorsports, fans gather to watch the fastest drivers in each race make their way to victory. When it comes to sheer speed and power, few classes of cars can thrill like outlaw sprint cars. The light weight, open-wheeled machines produce nearly 800 horsepower and can reach speeds of 120 mph on the semi-banked third-mile clay oval here at Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway. True masters of speed, you won’t see anything faster take to the track at Oshkosh Speedzone this year.

The IRA Outlaw Sprints have been a feature special event at Oshkosh Speedzone for many seasons due to their popularity at the raceway. On Friday Night June 17th, the first of two appearances this season will be held for the cars.

In the last event held for the IRA Outlaw Sprints held last September, the race featured a 4-wide pass for the win, with Mike Reinke taking the victory.
