May 17, 2012, Rockford, IL – All four NASCAR divisions will be in action when Nason’s Landscaping Round number one of the Gilley’s Cool 5 Series this Saturday night May 19 at Rockford Speedway.  Strong fields in the NASCAR Stanley Steemer Late Models, Bargain Hunter Sportsman, Miller Lite American Short Trackers and RockStar Energy RoadRunners as they battle for their share of over $12,000 in point fund money at year’s end.  The Sam’s Drive-In RoadRunner Challenge will be the Race for the White House, a new event for 2012.

May 5, 2012; Loves Park, IL -  It’s a badge of honor to be a Late Model feature winner at the Rockford Speedway. Drivers old and young, experienced and novice, have all been humbled by the famed high banked track. When a driver is finally able to take the trip to victory lane, it’s a special thing. A first time winner would indeed top the Late Model field on this Saturday evening during Pepsi Kid’s Night, as 20 year old Mitch Garfield traded blows with some of the very best en route to the checkered flag in the 30 lap Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Model feature event.

May 3, 2012; Loves Park, IL. - The first of four kids’ nights will take place Saturday Night May 5 at Rockford Speedway during Pepsi Night.  Children ages eleven and under will be admitted free and the first five hundred kids through the gate will receive a free DOC 360/Driver X Racing poster as well as a family four pack to Mt. Olympus in Wisconsin Dells courtesy of ESPN 1380am.

April 28, 2012, Loves Park, IL  – In one of the great late race charges in recent memory, Belvidere’s Brett McCoy thrilled the fans of Rockford Speedway Saturday night as he nabbed the checkered flag in the 25 lap Bargain Hunter Sportsman feature event. McCoy, in only his second race behind the wheel of a Sportsman, advanced from sixth spot to first in the race’s final ten laps to secure the victory and make a little history for himself along the way.

Loves Park, IL; April 18, 2012 – The Weekly Warriors of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series take center stage this Saturday night during Bryden Motors Ram Truck Month 65th Season Opener at Rockford Speedway. The track has been filled with cars testing from all divisions preparing for this big night of racing action. April 17, 2012; Loves Park, IL- The fuel breathing excitement of four barrel carbureted, Super Late Model racing will return to Rockford Speedway in 2012.  The Miller Lite All-Star 100 is slated for Saturday night July 14 while the 47th annual National Short Track Championships will be highlighted by a 200 lap event for Super Late Models on Sunday afternoon September 30.

“Both events are deeply rooted in the history of short track auto racing and I think this year’s editions will continue the great tradition of both events.” Commented Rockford Speedway GM Gregg McKarns.  “They promise to be exciting as many of today’s top stars from across the region have shown interest in supporting these two events.”

Loves Park, IL; April 15, 2012- Battling his rivals and the elements, “Driver X” Jon Reynolds Jr. started his season the right way Sunday at the Rockford Speedway. Reynolds collected his first Spring Classic trophy, winning the 108 lap feature by half a track over his nearest competition after starting ninth in the season opening event for the Big 8 Late Model Series presented by Gandrud Chevrolet.

April 12, 2012, Loves Park, IL- The 2012 race season officially gets underway at Rockford Speedway this Sunday afternoon April 15 at Rockford Speedway. The Big 8 Late Model Series presented by Gandrud Chevrolet, Mid-American Stock Car Series and new to the mix, the Illinois Vintage Racing Series will all begin their seasons during the 35th annual Spring Classic presented by Yellowbook.

Friday, April 6, 2012, Loves Park, IL - The 2012 Racing Season kicks off this Saturday afternoon April 7 at Rockford Speedway. The WXRX Stone and Double T 200 Enduro takes center stage at 3pm, over forty entries have already been filed for this unique event with race officials expecting seventy or more cars taking the initial green flag of the year in this race named after the popular radio morning show duo. With the excellent Spring weather we have been experiencing here in the Stateline, this is the perfect opportunity to come enjoy the area’s first outdoor event of 2012.

March 22, 2012, Rockford, IL – Just 16 days from now, the roar of the engines will return to Rockford Speedway as we begin our 65th Anniversary Season.
