Vets Zdroik, Kurtti score wins in TNT  Speedway opener

May 12, 2012; Three Lakes, WI. - There are a lot of new things at Three Lakes TNT Speedway this season. New operators, new lighting, new clay, new paint and more. But as the curtain rose on the 2012 season, the old adage “the more things change, the more they stay the same” rang true.

Two former track champions, Jason Zdroik and Jordan Kurtti found victory lane in the WISSOTA AMSOIL Dirt Track Series classes, while a former track championship winning car found the winners’ circle in the TNT Pure Stocks. Brit Bromann of Rhinelander, driving the Bill Slizewski-owned No. 21, edged out former track champ John Johnson, Sr. in the closest finish of the night. Gleason’s Kasey Gross and Birnamwood’s Zach Thayer were the winners in the TNT Stingers and TNT Trucks, respectively.

TNT Speedway to hold test sessions

April 26, 2012;  Three Lakes, WI. – TNT Speedway in Three Lakes will be holding test sessions for drivers in preparation for the upcoming 2012 race season Saturday, April 28 and Saturday, May 5.

Admission is free to drivers, pit crew members and spectators. Concessions will be available in the pits. The test sessions will run from 4 p.m. until dusk.

The 2012 season at TNT Speedway will begin Sat., May 12 with racing every Saturday night, including Labor Day weekend, through Saturday, Sept. 9.

Three Lakes TNT Speedway, LLC to hold offseason racers meeting Feb. 21

Three Lakes, WI – February 13, 2012 -  Three Lakes TNT Speedway, LLC, the new operators of TNT Speedway will be holding a meeting open to all drivers, pit crew members and any other interested parties on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. at the Oneida Village Inn in Three Lakes. 

Anyone interested in racing at TNT Speedway this year is encouraged to attend. During the meeting folks will get a chance to meet the managing partners. Rule changes for 2012 will be discussed along with new procedures and start times.

Three Lakes based group to lease TNT Speedway, full season planned for 2012

THREE LAKES, Wis, December 14, 2011 . – TNT Speedway owners Tim and Patti Rutzen have reached a lease agreement with a group of area race enthusiasts that will ensure a full season of stock car racing next year on the one-third mile clay oval and a bright future for racing in the Three Lakes area for years to come.

Three Lakes TNT Speedway LLC, a group formed by several racing enthusiasts, signed an agreement with the Rutzen family this week.

Stebbeds, Kallas, Tushoski, Gross winners in TNT’s finale

THREE LAKES, WI; September 10, 2011 – For one final time, drivers turned their cars loose at TNT Speedway for the 17th Annual Fall Special and as it has been all year, the racing did not disappoint.

Hurley, WI’s John Kallas won a thrilling non-sanctioned Street Stock feature. Eagle River, WI’s Terry Stebbeds got some vindication for two weeks ago taking the Midwest Modified feature. Rhinelander’s Denny Tushoski put a bow on another championship season with another TNT Bomber victory and Gleason, WI’s Kasey Gross won the finale in the TNT Stingers.

THREE LAKES, WI; August 27, 2011 – In perhaps the most bizarre finish to a points race Northern Wisconsin has ever seen, Bruce Belland won the WISSOTA AMSOIL Dirt Track Series Midwest Modified Title by a single point over Jerry Grasse at TNT Speedway Saturday night. Belland was credited with the feature win, and got the extra point he needed, after the man who came to the checkered first, Terry Stebbeds, was disqualified. 

TNT Track Championships too close to call after wild night

THREE LAKES, WI., August 21, 2011 – Miller Beer of the Northwoods Night at TNT Speedway in Three Lakes had a little of everything – high drama in the races for the track championships, a couple of first time winners, a couple of big wrecks, even a little rain. 

At the end of the night Phelps, WI’s Jerry Grasse claimed another win in the WISSOTA AMSOIL Dirt Track Series Midwest Modified. Argonne, WI’s Leif Gunderson won a wild scramble to the finish in the WADTS Street Stocks. Rhinelander’s Dan Schultz claimed a win in the TNT Bombers and Rhinelander’s John Barlowski won for the second straight week in the TNT Stingers.

THREE LAKES, WI., August 6, 2011  – For the second straight week, Mother Nature defeated man in the battle to stage a race at TNT Speedway in Three Lakes. 

Rain started around 5:30 PM and picked up in intensity around 5:45. By 6:15, workers had lost the race track and with the rain not relenting, the decision was made to call the program.

THREE LAKES, WI, July 30, 2011 – Racing was not in the cards this past Saturday at TNT Speedway in Three Lakes as a severe thunderstorm on Saturday afternoon dropped torrential rainfall and knocked out power at the track. 

With the postponement of Miller Beer of the Northwoods Night, all the attention focuses to the second annual Jake Mullins Memorial WISSOTA AMSOIL Dirt Track Series Street Stock Special, slated for Saturday, August 6, and the final month of the season at TNT.

THREE LAKES, WI – It was clean sweeps all around at TNT Speedway on a steamy Saturday night. That was good news for Eagle River’s Bruce Belland and Hurley, WI’s John Kallas, who padded points leads in the WISSOTA AMSOIL Dirt Track Series Midwest Modifieds and Street Stocks respectively.

Eagle River’s Bruce Belland topped the Dirt Track Series Midwest Modifieds main event at TNT Speedway padding his point lead.

July 2, 2011 – THREE LAKES, WI – A challenging dry track led to a lot of fireworks Saturday night at TNTSpeedway in Three Lakes and by the end of the night, experience seemed to play a big role a three veterans of the track took home clean sweeps.

Phelps, Wisconsin’s Jerry Grasse was the winner in the WISSOTA AMSOIL Dirt Track Series Midwest Modifieds. Bruce Crossing, Michigan’s Jordan Kurtti made it three feature wins in a row at TNT in the WISSOTA AMSOIL Dirt Track Series Street Stocks, Rhinelander’s Denny Tushoski retook sole possession of the TNT Bomber point lead with a feature win. All three won their heat races earlier in the evening for cleen sweeps. Norway, Michigan’s Eric LaFreniere took the checkered in the TNT Stingers.
