State Park Speedway adds Divisions and Big 8 Series Event to Wausau Oval.

February 26, 2012; Wausau, WI. -  State Park Speedway plans the addition of two racing classes for the 2012 season. In addition to the Mini-Mod class State Park Speedway adds a Mini-Stock class this season.

“We think it’s very important to have a beginner stock class,” says State Park Speedway Owner Ron Wimmer, “There had been a lot of interest in that class running at State Park Speedway and we are excited to add them to the schedule for this year. It is necessary to the sport to continue to give young people an opportunity to begin their racing career, and the Mini-Stock class is where that happens.”

September 8, 2011; Wausau, WI. – Mack Mackesy had the C-Tech Super Late Model Title wrapped up heading in to the 2nd Annual Fighting Cancer Full Throttle 75 Thursday night, but it was Jason Weinkauf who stole the show, finding his way to Buffalo Wild Wings Victory lane for the first time this year at State Park Speedway.

Mackesy Clinches C-Tech Super Late Championship at Wausau

September 2, 2011 – Wausau, WI – Mark Mackesy clinched the State Park Speedway 2011 C-Tech Super Late Model Championship Friday night and did so by finding Buffalo Wild Wings Victory Lane for the fourth time this year.  “To win the championship is an awesome feeling,” says Mackesy, “I have great guys who help me in the shop and awesome sponsors who make it all possible.  Last year I didn’t win a race here and to win the point title this year, with such great competition every week, is special.”

Holzhausen Wins Lodi Memorial – Tight Point Battle in the Super Stock Division at Wausau

 

Wausau, WI; August 25, 2011 – It had been years since Steve Holzhausen raced at State Park Speedway when he made his return for the Miller Lite Detjens Memorial weekend. After bringing home a second place finish that weekend, Holzhausen returned to SPS Thursday for the Lodi Memorial Race, and this time found Buffalo Wild Wings Victory Lane. 

Tim Sauter Earns First Win of 2011 Season at Wausau

Mark Mackesy earns the State Park Speedway hat trick, winning his third race of the year. “Last year I didn’t win a race at State Park Speedway,” says Mackesy, “So I was pretty excited to win the first week. Then to win the ASA race and to win again tonight is just awesome.”

Ben Pettis Wins Second Race of 2011 Season; Natalie Decker picks up first CWSSA win

June 30, 2011 – Wausau, WI – Ben Pettis finds Buffalo Wild Wings Victory Lane for the second time this season at State Park Speedway. “I think this is only my fourth super late model race in the last two years,” says Pettis, “And it’s my third win, so it feels really good. There’s a lot of great local competition and to pick up another win is awesome.”
